Chapter 5 - The Hidden History of Institutional Political Theft in
America
Talking
Points: Sorry to burst your bubble, but the majority of PC
history is made up of apologists writing a fairytale for the
politicians, and attempting to hide the main purpose of government.
The unfortunate main purpose of government is, as I have said
before, theft and the transfer of wealth to their supporters and
special interests. Always remember that the winners get to write the
history.
Most Government Propaganda Is Just A Cover-up For Theft
After World War I, a British propaganda expert was asked why
the British completely fabricated charges of German soldiers
bayoneting babies, using human skin for lamp shades and dead bodies
for soap, when of this was later proven to be deceptive propaganda.
Feeling no remorse, but rather pride in the fabrication, he answered
something to the effect of, “if we hadn't said those things our
solders wouldn't have fought and died for the empire and won the
war.” His answer was truthful and brutally honest even though it
showed that he too was a victim of his own wartime propaganda. Such
is the reason for most government propaganda and public relations
campaigns.
Theft by government and their supporting economic special
interests has and will always be with us. Although we are writing
only about America, our nation is no worse and usually better in
this regard than many other countries in terms of government
threats, violence, and wealth attacks. This is not an anti-American
book; as when compared to Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao, our politicians
can seem like saints. And yet, today the ultimate destruction of
our wealth security, property rights and liberties is perilously
close to happening in the United States. In fact, on a historical
continuum, Washington is where Rome was when the original Roman
Republic was destroyed, and the mighty Caesar ruled the empire both
at home and abroad. Note, this is not Rome with the communications
of two thousand years ago, but a highly advanced internet based
society with ease of travel and movement. What might have taken 300
years to happen then can take place today within a few months or
years. So do not be lulled into complacency by the slow fall of the
Roman Empire. A better example today is the fall of the former
communist government of the Soviet Union. My point here is that
time is not on your side--it is your enemy.
Wealth and property confiscation are the hidden part of
history no one writes about. It has always been the major function
of all governments, yet it is not very well documented in history
because most historians either work for or are subsidized by
government entities or the special interests behind those entities.
They are the people who are benefiting from such acts of pillage.
People of every nation want to believe that they are
virtuous, honorable, and patriotic, while their enemies are
evildoers, barbarians, and aggressors. All governments, nations,
groups, and even individuals have the physiological need to feel
this way. Do you think for a moment that most IRS agents,
regulators, politicians, or even German concentration camp guards
during World War II thought they were doing evil or were
participating in theft? Of course they did not.
Individuals and groups who professionally prey on others in
their vocations are always consoled with wonderful propaganda, with
appeals to their patriotism, or the rule of law, or to protect the
nation from external or internal threats. It is important to realize
that the same lies and misinformation spoon-fed to those who are
stealing from others is also utilized to propagandize and twist the
truth to those being preyed upon.
For example, the politicians and IRS who claim America has a
voluntary tax system are guilty of such propaganda. Tell me, which
part of the income tax system, the collection of taxes, or the
enforcement is at all voluntary? Is this money given willingly to
the government, or are taxes paid under compulsion and threat? A
true voluntary tax system would be simple - much like fundraisers on
National Public Radio. One would give based on their ability to pay
and how well the “local station” or government entity is doing their
job. There is nothing voluntary about the American tax system or any
other tax system for that matter.
While a low level of taxes is a legitimate and necessary
function of governments around the world, taxes will never be
voluntary or simple. Most politicians probably would prefer a simple
tax code, especially since all they want is your money and could
care less about the details—but a simple tax code will never happen
in America. The plethora of special interests, including lawyers,
accountants, tax consultants, and financial experts will always
oppose a fair, simple tax because this would destroy their
businesses.
This has always been the situation. Histories are written by
the victors and those who retained political leadership. Such
histories exist to show the wonderful attributes of the winning side
and their leaders in conflicts and politics. Every war, religion,
philosophy, political movement, and government always makes the case
that its actions are justifiably motivated. Since there are always
two or more sides to a conflict, each side always attempts to
sanitize their bad history and promote their uplifting behavior to
all that will listen.
Such was the history of the Roman Empire (written, of course,
by Roman historians) in their wars of liberation and conquest
against the "evil" barbarian tribes. From the Roman’s point of
view, the barbarians didn't deserve to be left alone with their land
and property to rule themselves. Even though the barbarians
probably thought differently about the conquest and subjugation,
they did not get to tell their side of the story and have remained
"barbarians" throughout all of history. Another example: Think
about it, the only difference in a war for independence or civil war
between "rebels" and "patriots" is who wins the war.
"All have to be killed or maintained as a species of paupers."

General Sherman regarding the Indians.
Our Real American History Is All About Wealth Confiscation
You
will find little in American history or world history that discusses
property and wealth confiscation. However, it has been going on
since the first colonists settled in the new world. It all depends
on the point of view. For example, little is said about the
constitutional or import tariff questions, which were a major cause
of the War Between the States. And rarely are the Mormons in
Nauvoo, Illinois mentioned, who had to flee from the largest city on
the Mississippi River—that they had dutifully built, because their
wealth and property were being brutally seized. Even the birth of
the United States and its initial colonization was in part motivated
by peoples attempting to escape confiscatory tax rates in Europe.
The United States was settled primarily by tax exiles and those
wanting more personal freedom and less government control.
The first colonists moved to the New World for a wide variety
of reasons. Many wanted to escape a stagnant economy and grueling
poverty, while others wanted to seek their fortunes in the New
World. Some had contrary religious, political, ethnic or economic
views than the existing establishment, like the Puritans,
Anabaptist’s and the Jewish immigrants, who fled to practice their
religion and escape persecutions. Many had made enemies in the
government or power structure through political, economic or
business differences and were forced to leave. Some did not want to
fight in the continual wars of the European empires, and yet some
became fed up with the corruption, taxes and social class system in
Great Britain and simply wanted to be free.
Still, the major contributing factors to the colonization and
initial settlement of the American colonies were to escape poverty,
property confiscation, corrupt governments, and high rates of
taxation. Over time, history shows that wealth confiscation in the
U.S. became just as common as it had been in Europe and in many ways
even better organized.
Theft Is In the Eyes of the Beholder
Of
course, there are always at least two sides to every story and big
government proponents will strongly disagree with my point of view.
If you question the logic here, talk to only one spouse in the
middle of a bad divorce and then the other. The same sort of
differing views and opinions take place in an automobile accident.
One must always consider that written history by an establishment
historian is like hearing from only one side in a divorce case or
automobile accident. The point of view of the defeated or those
groups finding their property confiscated does not make it into the
history books.
For example, African Americans came here involuntarily as
slaves, as did many Europeans who were forced to indenture
themselves for a period of time in order to satisfy debts or buy
passage to America. And then there are the people who were here
first, the Native Americans. Have you considered the birth,
settlement and westward expansion of America from the perspective of
a Native American? Even though freedom from abusive, corrupt
governments and a desire for personal liberty was the prime
motivating factor for settlement by our European ancestors, there
were many who were forced to come here against their will. Again,
neither the Native Americans nor African Americans had the
opportunity to tell their side of the story until recent years.
This same kind of false history written by the victors also
took place in Europe. An example is the horrible holocaust by the
Nazi's during World War II, which included massive property
confiscation as well as innumerable lives lost. But who were the
victims in the second worst holocaust in Europe? Probably few of you
know this, but it was the Turkish holocaust against the Armenians
after World War I. We are all aware of the Jewish holocaust, but
unless you are Greek or Armenian, this other terrible tragedy gets
little attention in history books.
Likewise, we are all familiar with the German atrocities and
attacks on Poland and Czechoslovakia during World War II. This was
a time of mass confiscation of property and forced movement of
populations to accommodate German resettlement.
But how many of you also realize the
same inhuman, forced resettlements took place in reverse after
Germany's defeat in World War II, in both Poland proper, former
German Silesia, and in the Sudetenland section of Czechoslovakia.
Also after World War I, in both territories, something similar took
place against the Germans when the victorious allies carved these
former nations out of the German empire. Time and
time again, the winners write the history of conflicts and always
cover up the confiscation aspects of the struggle. Confiscation in
Europe and elsewhere, including the United States, is a very
under-reported part of history. Do your research and view the world,
its history, its politics, and its financial services as they really
are, not as they are said to be by those out to make their side of
the story the only message you will hear.
"We must always think about things, and we must think about
things as they are, not as they are said to be." -- George
Bernard Shaw
It’s All About the Money!
All
governments, whether relatively good or utterly tyrannical, exist to
steal wealth from one group and transfer it to others. At the basic
level it is similar to a band of robbers in ancient times, except
that our modern governments present the illusion that they are
providing services and order, and they do this through public
relations. Governments are much like the Mafia--stealing, scraping
off profits, and providing protection services in addition to their
more violent activities. Ultimately, both the Mafia organization and
most levels of government thrive on instilling fear and threats in
the people.
There are a few differences between the Mafia organization
and modern governments, however. First, while one has the
opportunity to move outside of Mafia control, we can never get away
from government. No matter where you go, there will be in place
some kind of government that functions on fear and confiscation. The
second difference is that the Mafia is far more competent than most
government actions because members of the Mafia are held accountable
for their actions and are disciplined severely for failure.
Government employees, on the other hand, are often rewarded for
incompetence and it is almost impossible to fire a government
employee.
As I stated earlier, throughout history governments have
typically stolen on two levels. The first level was
institutionalized theft against their internal citizens or subjects
through taxes. The second method was against foreign groups and
nations through war and conquest. Unfortunately, all of this
activity continues today. The only difference is that there is
increased sophistication in the internal theft activities and better
public relations and propaganda on the external pillage expeditions.
The bottom line is that theft is always in the eyes of the beholder
and those subjected to the crime of theft usually are not in the
position of power after the fact to give their side of the story.
Concerned investors should plan today to protect their wealth from
those out to take it.

Fact, Book & Video Recommendations For This Page:
It's all about the money. Not long enough ago, I worked with the
most cynical individual I've ever met and his answer about
everything was "It's all
about the money". To him working in sales, it was. He was
intelligent and had a lot of ability but was a very sad individual
in many ways. Everything is not "all about the money" and there are
many institutions and individuals who are altruistic and their lives
are all about service to others and attempting to make the world a
better place. Most government "servants" do not fit into this
category and they survive and thrive living off of the wealth of
productive members of society. They are actually worse than salesmen
who do everything based on the sale and their reward because you are
free to choose who you buy from or deal with in business and
everyday life while most government and political structures are a
monopoly. - Ron Holland

War Crimes Against
Southern Civilians by Walter Brian Cisco. The sobering and
brutal consequences of the Civil War off the battlefield are
revealed in this examination of atrocities committed against
civilians. Rationale for the Union's "hard war" and the political
ramifications of such a war set the foundation for Walter Cisco's
enlightening research. The War Between the States was an economic
war of invasion, pillage and occupation against American civilians
in the South and the economy. Today, pillage is equally spread upon
all productive Americans rather than a particular region or group.

Those Dirty Rotten Taxes
- by Charles Adams. This book is a history lesson that shows how
certain taxes came into being and how the American people reacted.
Starting with the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act, and the protests that
led to the American Revolution. But then there are other taxes that
are not so well- known, like the tariffs that led to the Civil War
in the 1800's. Most people think the Civil War was fought over
slavery, but this was only one reason among many. Adams shows how
Lincoln deliberately used taxes to antagonize the South, leading
ultimately to war, which was his ultimate goal.

33 Questions About American History You're Not
Supposed To Ask - By Thomas Woods. Like we said, there are many
aspects of history hidden from view. Pay specific attention to Tom
Wood's discussion of the Whiskey Rebellion.
